Happy first day of summer! I love this time of year - it's light when I get up in the morning (which is not very early) and it stays light so late into the evening.

...You might think that would help my electric bill but my A/C has been working some serious overtime the past couple of weeks because it's been in the nineties with ZERO relief in sight. I have my windows open now though. AND my oven is on.

I predict I will survive another ten minutes before I close the windows and stick my head in the freezer.

This is also the time of year by which normal people should have a base tan. I am normal only if you swap out tan with burn. The sun offers me three options: burn, freckle, or both.

My consolation prize is self-tanner which comes with a bonus of a) crazy smells and b) streak marks. I had a coupon, so I just started using Nivea Sun Kissed Beautiful Legs. The jury's still out. I don't think it smells, but it's on my legs, so who can be sure? I did notice some nice streaking on my feet though. It could pass for sandal lines, but the pattern is a little erratic. It's like shaving my knees - all these years and I still can't quite get the hang of it.

I could always go the Toddlers & Tiaras route and hightail it to the nearest Spray Tan Wonder-Shop and emerge with a healthy glow. See how natural?



Eek.

I think I will just let myself freckle which may or may not eventually blend together to form one giant freckle aka a tan!

In monarchy news, Prince William turns the big 2-8 today! When I was little, I wished so badly that I could be related to him, distant cousins or something, because I thought he was sooo cute and I wanted to be his princess. This was back before I had a firm understanding of genealogy (and incest, apparently). Anyway, happy birthday to this guy, who may be losing his hair but has never lost my affections.
