A Love Letter to my Blog

Dearest Blog,

I have to apologize.

I let our first anniversary pass without acknowledgment.  It's inexcusable.  You are always there for me (except for those days a month or so back when I couldn't log in, but I have moved beyond that...) and my affections towards you have been fickle at best.  Sometimes I tend to you daily and other times I have gone weeks without so much as a glance.

And, to boot, I didn't get you an anniversary present.  Isn't that terrible?  You have given me new friends that I wouldn't have otherwise had the privilege of knowing.  You're also a little bridge that keeps me connected to old and dear friends.  How can I repay you for that?

I will try to do better by you this next year.  I will try to do more than slap up a picture or two (but can I start next week?) every once in a while.

Finally, thank you, blog, for being a cooler version of my childhood diary.  And one that I don't have to hide under my mattress so my little brother doesn't find it.

With any luck, I won't look back at old posts and feel the embarrassment I do towards old pages in my diary that say nothing but, "I LOVE JAKE STOUT!"

But you have to admit, he really was the cutest boy in 5th grade.
